I actually just got done taking an embroidered cushion cover done by my great-grandmother in to get framed. I'm so happy when I hear that craftiness is passed down through generations in other families too!Carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04420860851919079523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593772661578446066.post-27232022609067936322008-06-03T15:58:00.000-07:002008-06-03T15:58:00.000-07:00I have a very similiar crafting/baking relationshi...I have a very similiar crafting/baking relationship with my grandmother, too. It is nice to hear about other people who have similiar relationships. I really want to get into embroidery this summer. In fact, the other day I picked up embroidery floss from my grandma in hopes of getting started.Jessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10790498956206713440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593772661578446066.post-25964150629974043412008-06-03T15:50:00.000-07:002008-06-03T15:50:00.000-07:00My finished pillowcase awarded me with the antique...My finished pillowcase awarded me with the antique doll named Yvonne! :) What was your doll's name?Emily & Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03125831965386232814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593772661578446066.post-21242570370117460442008-06-03T13:55:00.000-07:002008-06-03T13:55:00.000-07:00What wonderful memories you have and will pass dow...What wonderful memories you have and will pass down to your girls. It made me think of my own Grammy and her crocheting and my husbands mom and her love of sewing and knitting and how she is sharing that with my daughter. Crafting is something that ties families together in very powerful ways.

A really great book to read about this is "The Keeping Quilt" by Patricia Polacco -- its the story of a quilt that moves through a family and all the memories it makes.Woven Chainshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09514270242010056524noreply@blogger.com
