Muffin Tin Monday

Good morning! Hope you all had a lovely 4th. My girls had this Muffin Tin Meal for dinner. Yep, looks just like what they eat for lunch.

Contents: Stonyfield yogurt tube cut in half, orange pepper, mini cheese ravioli, kiwi, Calbee Snapea Crisps, strawberries, peanut butter toast, string cheese, buttered toast sticks, turkey, Babybel cheese, rice cakes

I bought these mini forks at Uwajimaya over a year ago. I'm sure they are meant for bento boxes. They were a fun addition to the Muffin Tin.

My girls are still really enjoying these Muffin Tin Meals. I continue to have fun putting them together too. So far they haven't really expanded their diets as a result of these meals. I still have hope. How is is going for the rest of you?

My neighbor suggested taking picture of the Muffin Tin *after* it's been rummaged through by the kids. Thought that was a great idea. Didn't get a snap shot for this one however. Someone else suggested leaving a few of the muffin cups empty as the younger kids like to move the food items around (I forgot who's blog I read this on - sorry!!) If you have an idea for adding a twist to Muffin Tin Monday, please leave it in your comment. I'd love to hear from you.

I'll leave you with another plug to join our flickr group.

  1. I love this, switching up the plain ol' PBJ! Do you have each child eat a whole muffin tin by themselves, or do they split it up amongst each other? It looks like a lot of food for my 2 year old to each by herself. I do have mini muffin tins I could use.

  12. I didn't photo it but we've now done muffin tin meals twice in the past few days. My boys love it! It is a great way to get some variety into their diets. I used mini-muffin tins since my toddler doesn't eat a lot, and then give two scoops worth of each food item to my older son. They love it! Thanks for a brilliant idea!

  14. Since I only have one child old enough to eat "real" food I have to think of ways to not have too much excess. I have a mini muffin tin and I sliced his hot dog into enough to fill a bunch, then did little cheese slices in several, some fruit in a few more, and of course one for ketchup. He ate every bite!

  17. I have been doing this for ages! I think I read it suggested in a early childhood curriculum book. I made a few for a child I nannied - and his parents thought I was nuts. Glad to know I was only ahead of my time! I think I'll join you next week!

  19. This is SUCH a wonderful idea. I saw it on The Crafty Crow and tried it today. Was a HUGE hit with my son, who ate almost all of it, which was no mean feat because there was a lot of food there!!

I love this, I've posted about it today! Thanks for the great idea.
