On Sunday we went to the Trier Christmas Market. We had such an enjoyable time last year, Bryce and I were excited to share it with his parents. The train ride was pleasant and uneventful. The only added element this year was snow, it didn't stick, but still - SNOW! Although incredibly cold, it really did put us in the Christmas mood. Who can worry about cold when there is hot, steaming mugs of Gluehwein to be had? I must confess that I skipped the Gluehwein this year and had a latte spiked with Baileys instead. Slurp.

This was one of my favorite things to do when we lived in Bitburg. I really miss it and we finished our last bottle of Gluehwein last Christmas. Loved it and have some beautiful ornaments for great memories.
ReplyDeleteI so want to come and live with you! and I REALLY want one of those marshmallows!
ReplyDeleteoooohhhh cold but lovely, you are making such amazing memories. My folks visited Europe for a year when I was tiny and I can still remember the smell of Christmas... crispy fresh trees on the corners and spice cookies.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize the actual size of the marshmellow in the first photo but then in the second I was WOWED! That carousel is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love Trier and that cathedral next to the market. Wishing I was eating a pretzel right now. Enjoy it for all of us.
