Gung Hay Fat Choy!

It's Chinese New Year and we celebrated at my oldest daughter's preschool tonight. We had a Chinese dinner, catered by The Snappy Dragon and for dessert we had rice cake made by the students. After eating the students put on their dragon masks and paraded through the school with instruments, scaring away the bad luck, making room for lots of good fortune in the year ahead. 2008 is the Year of the Rat. Here are the characteristics of a Rat Year:

It starts February 7, 2008 and ends on January 25, 2009. A Rat Year is a time of hard work, activity, and renewal. This is a good year to begin a new job, get married, launch a product or make a fresh start. Ventures begun now may not yield fast returns, but opportunities will come for people who are well prepared and resourceful. The best way for you to succeed is to be patient, let things develop slowly, and make the most of every opening you can find.

A sentence I thought I would never say, "What a cute rat."
