A Month of Project 365

With a month under my belt, I'm anxious to check in with the rest of you who are doing this project. How is it going? How are you feeling about it so far?

Here are my scattered thoughts - I'm really enjoying the practice of taking a picture each and every day. I feel frustrated at the end of a day when I've forgotten until late into the evening to take a photo. I don't like the pictures of junk piles and Pizza Hut mucking up my collection. I guess I feel frustrated when the pictures are both of low visual quality and lack any kind of significance. I also feel like my collection is scattered. What is it about? I can see why some people choose to only photograph themselves or their kids or their meals - some theme to unify the collection. The last frustration I'm having is with my camera. It really stinks at taking indoor, lowish light photos. Yeah, I know it's just a little dinky point and click. But it does wonderful things outside and with it's macro clicked on. I'm tempted to get out my mom's Canon Rebel again. I just don't know what I'm doing with that camera. Sigh. We'll see.

I'll leave you with my favorite photo of January. I love the joy in this photo. Eva just kept doing her thing even though I was taking pictures. I also like the parallel lines of the sidewalk and Eva's arms.

Happy snaps to you in February!

what a great photo! i also love this idea - but don't think I could keep up with it right now. I guess it's something that can be started anytime though, yes?

I guess the randomness is what I like because it is just giving a glimpse of our REAL life, not just the staged event. I printed my first month of photos and am doing the daily journal cards now....
You MUST get out the Rebel. Don't be afraid, just put it in automatic and shoot. I have had my camera for 2 years and still don't know really how to use it but it I can't stand going back to my p&s for so many reasons.....
Love the snow photo!

yeah, mine is all scattered too! So far I've managed to take a daily picture, I didn't think I'd be able to keep up even this long

Great photo - I love the 365 idea but don't need another thing to stress me out that I'm not doing (like not blogging and I'm behind on picks) agh!

Katy, the monochromatic background with the different textures is great and the contrast with the colorful Evie really makes it. The diagonal lines give a great feelng of movement. Way to go.....
