Can you get white eggs in Luxembourg? We only get the brown ones in France and they are not easy to dye. Glad you had a happy Easter with lovely weather.
Sheppy, There was only one store that had white eggs and they were only available due to Easter. Is it traditional to dye eggs in France? My French teacher said that Easter is represented by chocolate bells in France. Is that right?
Egg dying is not a French tradition, nor is the Easter bunny, but we do it the American way as as it is my favorite holiday. I try to do them every year (see here, but it is very difficult to dye the brown ones!
The French do Easter eggs (chocolate ones) that the Easter bells drop in gardens on the way from Rome, chocolate bunnies and chocolate fish (??) are also present.
BTW, loved your post on counting from the thumb, I had never noticed that they do it that way (my children included)!
Wow .. homemade hot cross buns!! you outdid yourself :)
We only have brown eggs in Australia too and mine turned out great!! see my blog banner... if you add a little vinegar in the dye/water it will stick to the egg better/make the colour more vibrant
