Fields and fields of yellow. They are all over the country. This country, Luxembourg. It is quite a beautiful site, especially from a distance. Yellow fields of flowers next to rich green pastures. Luxembourg is a beautiful country. You should come visit.

The yellow flowers are rapeseed flowers, called Colza in French. The black seeds of the flowers are produced into rapeseed oil which in the U.S. is called canola oil. France, Germany and Belgium also grow fields and fields of rapeseed flowers.
In addition to cooking oil, rapeseed oil is also used in the production of biodiesel. In Europe it is mostly cultivated for animal feed. Rapeseed can also been grown as a winter cover crop. The leaves of the plant can be eaten. They are similar to kale or bok choy leaves.
Regardless of what it's used for, it is beautiful and characteristic of Luxembourg in the springtime.

Hi, actually I want to go to these yellow fields to do some photo shooting with my boyfriend, would you recommend us some place in particular accessible by train or public transport? I live in Belgium and havent seen so many of those fields :). Thank you.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I took these pictures just off of the rue de Cessange in Luxembourg City. If you follow the road until it ends you'll find colza fields to the right of you. There is also a small local road that crosses through the pasture area. Take this road for photo ops and more fields. I know there are lots more, this is just the one I actually remember the location of. Good luck!
