A Boxing Day Birthday

The 26th was Bryce's birthday. The girls and I had a breakfast birthday party for him - meaning we gave him his gifts along with his morning coffee after he slept in (a gift in and of itself.) Just before noon we joined some friends on their annual Boxing Day walk through the woods. The weather was cold and clear but the conversation was lively. The girls loved running around with their friends. We then joined our friends for lunch and got to taste a few traditional English holiday foods - Christmas pudding, mince pies and parsnip & apple soup. I think Bryce would agree it was a joyful day, perfect for a birthday.

Do you celebrate Boxing Day? Do tell -

boxing day back home is a big family party day. Everyone would arrive at my mom's house armed with tonnes of food and gallons of drink and it is basically a day of eating, drinking and being merry!
Here we did the video chat with folks at home then went to a friends to party, I got back to find my best friend had given birth to a beautiful baby boy.

Happy belated birthday to Bryce! He shares his b-day with Vale. We went to Bellingham for a family dinner and thought of you and your days at Western. Wen's looking forward to making mince pies - what was in the pies you ate?
