Friday Funny

Portlandia - Could easily be called Parts of Seattlandia too. This one kind of sums up the idea behind it:

A few more episodes that caught my eye:

Bryce's favorite clip.
This terrifies me because I can actually picture it happening. Is this where we're headed?
Etsy.
I know these people.

In the same vein as Portlandia is this Whole Foods parking lot rap.

Occurred to me that it may be hard to find the humor in these if you're not familiar with the area. Maybe I should have titled the post - Funny for Pacific North Westerners.

Just found your awesome blog about a week ago through expatica (my husband is interviewing for a job in Lux and I seem to be googling like crazy). Being born and raised in Oregon and now living in Seattle, this post is insanely funny.....and TRUE!!!! So far, I've found your blog very entertaining, funny and informative and can't wait to read more posts!

I've never even been to the Pacific Northwest, but it rings true to me. Hilarious.

so, are you sure you really want to go back there?? now that you have purged yourselves of this?
how will the children adjust to such a different culture?
just wondering what are your plans for dealing with the (reverse) culture shock?

DIED laughing at the Whole Foods rap. I actually recognized several of the stores or parking lots. Love the "pay $80 for my 6 things"... so true.

I'm visiting Seattle from the east coast right now and this is just hilarious.

Like everyone else who read this, I will be spending the rest of the day singing "Gettin' real in the Whole Foods parking lot..." in my head of the rest of the day.

A - Thank you! Good luck to you and your husband with your potential move. It is great here.

Anonymous - Not too worried about reverse culture shock. Life is not all that different here. Just lots of little differences . . .

Suddenly - Right back at ya, JFTB.

Erin M - So funny, right? Funny because it is true! I'm glad there isn't a whole foods close enough to our house for any regular shopping. It would break the bank!

Dan - Enjoy Seattle! I hope you see more than the inside of a conference room. There is a Whole Foods right off Denny, just North of Down Town. If you feel like gettin' real.
