Pie-in-a-Jar

These cuties have been on my mind since I saw the post. Pies in a jar. No joke. How clever is that? Finally gave it a go. The result: DARLING, tasty, unique, easy (with my short cuts), and will make the perfect gift - picture the jar tied with baker's twine. Friends, please act surprised and impressed when you receive yours.

Now for the true confessions: I used canned pie filling and frozen pie crust. It's the best I can do these days. Now for the links: Click here, here and here for the nitty gritty, what ifs, and how abouts. Oh, I suggest baking at 400 and they take longer to bake than you'd expect. My crust was a bit raw in places. My 2 year old helped me scoop the filling into the jars. See here.

one word: Dangerous! I want to make cake in a jar for Christmas gifts for people at work, but I haven't been successful in making them without gooey centers yet.

Yay, you did it! It's still on my to-do list, but you've definitely given me the inspiration to actually do it. If it takes Betty Crocker's help to cross something off your list, so be it!
I'm thinking that they're perfect picnic food.....

I found your blog today while I was reading another one. Your blog is great. I am getting such good ideas. I love the muffin tin meal. I think my kids would love it. I am marking you as a favorite, so I can come back and see your other great ideas.

Oops. Daughter! So sorry! First-time readers should not make assumptions after only reading one post. Again, very sorry!
