Look at what was curled up in our backyard last night! Poor guy was afraid to move after Bryce removed the trampoline that he was hiding under. Can't wait to tell the girls about it in the morning! I had no idea there were hedgehogs here. How exciting!

We used to get those in Germany. It's kind of sad how the ball up and pretend to be invisible.
That's really exciting!! The hedgehog looks so cute and shy!
Funny synchronicity....we both discover hedgehogs on the same day. Hope we get to see a live one soon.
I remember seeing them at night in Prague and being just astonished to hear their snuffly, oinky noise--made me understand their names!
& of course, when I relayed my astonishment to my students, they thought it was too funny since they're so commonplace. So I got to astonish them with stories about raccoons.
Ahhh! We would just flip if we saw a hedgehog. They are a favorite of ours (stuffed animals, that is), but I never imagined them being so big!
