The First Day

We made it through the first day of school. More accurately I made it through the first day of school. Sheesh. I was a total wreck! I've been a total wreck. I'm still a bit of a wreck. Thankfully though the kids are not at all a wreck. They did great!

The big question mark was the little one. She started an Early Years program 3 days a week. My little one who has never left my side. My little one who wants what she wants and usually what she wants is her mama. We dropped her off and left without tears (hers or mine) At pick-up she was wide-eyed and so exhausted she could barely utter a sentence, but in good spirits. Eva LOVED school, stated she's already "warmed up to the teacher." At bedtime she said her favorite part of the day was the whole day at school and that she wants to go to school for a million years. Whew.

I'm still a wreck and we just completed day 5. I have no idea why. I guess it is just settling in to the new routine.

What a big step for all of you. What are you going to do with all your "free time"? Hope you enjoy every minute of it and the girls have a great time at school.

Ahhh sweeties. The best thing we can give our kids is the ability to be independent, with a nice place to come home to at the end of the day. You're doing great!
