Green Guy

This guy managed to hang on to my car's side mirror from school to home. After admiring and photographing him the girls and I set him in the yard. What do you think he was? Grasshopper?

Definitely a grasshopper! They can get pretty darn huge! My parents have lots on their farm in South West France and sometimes it feels like a chapter out of the Bible in late summer! The praying mantis are huge too...The kids love catching them and checking them out in our bug box! I haven't seen them here as much, more ants than anything else...

To reply to your previous post, Sweden has certainly surprised us.. We often came to Europe and have visited many countries on, what I now call, the continental Europe. I never really had an inkling ot head north...However, since being here, I truly love it and see why we get downright invaded by tourists during the summer months. Stockholm is spread across 14 islands and has much to show case, it is by far the most child friendly city I've yet to see and transportation is definitely a breeze here...Even my mom wanted to go out alone with the kids (that is saying alot!!!) because she could maneuver all the stairs and public transportation without any problem...

All of our guests have been pleasantly surprised, as with ourselves, never having been inclined to come this far north! I hope you'll make it up here one day!

Looks like a katydid or something similar in the grasshopper family. I am sticking with katydid with your name connection :) Cool find.

It's probably a grasshopper. In high school we had to dissect grasshoppers that were almost 6 inches long!
