Foam Christmas tree. How lovely are thy buttons.

On my way to and from Hawaii I touched down in Seattle for a night. I was able to spend it at my brother and sister in-law's, getting a much needed visit with them and my nieces. My SIL sent me off with a craft care package for the girls. Included in it were all the supplies for making these cute little foam Christmas trees.

The girls did the project yesterday after school. It was a HUGE hit! Eva chose to trim her tree only in pink. Audrey chose to trim her tree in whatever she grabbed. At 3 years old, Audrey didn't quite have the dexterity yet to pin the buttons all on her own. I held each button on the tree for her and she pushed the pin in. Luckily she never stuck me!!

For this project you need
Styrofoam cones, assorted
buttons &
beads and
pins with pretty colored heads. The girls and I put the pins in a cushion so they were easier to grab (and didn't fall on the floor as easily.) This was a great project on it's own for Audrey. The buttons we dumped in a Tupperware container so the girls could see them better.

Eva decided the finished trees should go on the ottoman to "decorate the place where we'll leave cookies for Santa." Alright, it works for me.

THANKS AUNTIE LENA!!

OHHHH I love it, love it, love it! So glad they enjoyed it! How thoughtful of Eva to do a theme. I have to send you a picture of the one Renate did- she loves sticking a pin in each hole of the button, some buttons even have 5 or 6 pins coming out! Of course I had to help her stick them in, but can you believe she did some on her own too? The pin cushion is a great idea! I will use that next time. And, of course, we thoroughly enjoyed your visit! :)
Now that's a good idea, love the pins!!!
What a sweet, easy craft idea! That pic of Evie made my heart melt. I hope little boys like doing these crafty projies too!!
I Love this! It's simple but nice. My grandson will love making this and I have lots of buttons and cones too :)))
