On Sunday the girls and I met some friends at an ice skating rink in Beaufort. It was its last day open before closing for the season. The sun was out, the pop music was loud and fun was had, well, once we moved past fear, panic and frustration of course.
There is another ice skating rink here in Luxembourg in Kockelscheuer. It is covered and open year round. But I think outdoor is the way to go!

Look at those cute little legs with great big ice skates on them!!! How fun to ice skate in the great outdoors!!! On second thoughts - How cold!!! Have a fun week!!!
We tried it over Christmas break. They had little walkers but specified that you had to be 5 or younger to use them. After all of the fear, panic, and tears, we cheated and let the 7 year old use one too. It was definitely fun after awhile. Outdoor skating looks fun!
Yes! After the first few moments of frustration they had a great time. When we lived in Michigan they had these little walker type things to help the children learn how to stay on their feet without holding on to the wall.
There were "walkers" at this rink too. My girls wanted nothing to do with them!!
We took family lessons for a year a few years back and I've considered signing up again. It's a really fun reason to get out of bed on a Saturday morning. Donuts afterward, of course.
My kids have lessons at school during winter at the ice skating rink. Such a fun thing to tell our friends back home in Australia where no one ice skates much. In Vienna it is a serious business. Older couples even waltz in skates on the ice.
Oh, this was my favorite thing to do when I visited my husband when he was living in Lux. We went to the covered one and it was so so fun. I'm sure all the kids thought it was great that a married couple was there in the middle of the day, but I loved it. Your girls looks like they are having fun!
