Let the Pinning Begin!

After hearing people talk about Pinterest for months and months I finally gave it a real go.  I can see why it is described as addicting.  It is like surfing thousands of blogs all at one time. Talk about information overload!  Question - Why do I see pins from people I'm not following?  Anyone?

I can tell with Pinterest that one of the keys for me is to make sure I don't spend all my time pinning and forget the actual doing part.  It is a slippery slope.

Last night I geeked out on throw pillows for the living room.  Now to chose one or two.

And, as my sister pointed out, I've accumulated quite a few quinoa pins.  Protein, protein, protein.

Suddenly - First I must tell you I just love the Dear Abby tone of your comment. Second, I must confess that I ignored many Pinterest enthusiasts for months. Who needs another thing to do online? Who really needs to spend more time on the computer? Who needs to feel more overwhelmed by the amount of creative amazing people out there? Not me. BUT, I recently really tried it out and it was fun. Here is how I see it fitting into your life - pinning quilt ideas, pinning furniture/color/layout ideas for your house, pinning ideas for your garden (although I realize this is mostly the Mr's hobby), pinning recipes, and finally blowing off a little steam and taking a break from reality.

I won't be a Pinterest bully but I do think you would find it fun. Middle aged woman fun, not hanging off the chandelier fun, but let's take what we can get, shall we?

If you have not figured out why you are seeing stuff from people you are not following yet its because you are. When you set your account up Pintrest and say things you like it suggests people for you to follow. You have to go in and unfollow them. I had to do it several times before it worked when I joined.
