Top Done!

As I hoped, I finished piecing my niece's quilt top at Quilt Club last Saturday. It came together quickly thanks to all the long, straight seams. The next step is to decide on a quilting pattern. I do the quilting by hand as I have not yet learned how to machine quilt AND I'm not sure my machine could handle it. I'll introduce you to my darling machine in a future post. I'm thinking of using random circles that would mimic the many polka-dot fabrics I used or a diagonal grid. Thoughts? I'm going to do a pieced binding to bring the scrappy quality of the coins back out to the edges. Think it'll be a nice balance.

It's wonderful! You've inspired me... I started my 1st (technically 2nd) quilt last week. I may have to come to you for advice as things progress. You've done an amazing job!

I love it! The yellow fabric is just perfect. I think the simplicity of the Chinese Coins pattern is a great compliment for the fabrics you chose.

Now I can't wait to see the quilting.

Adorable! I was having a hard time picturing it in my head from your other posts, but now seeing it all together it looks fantastic. So fun and cheery, I am sure they will love it!
